Three to Six months before expiry date of the Passport, Indian citizen can apply for its renewal. Make sure, your Passport is eligible or already entitle for ECR (Emigration Clearance Required) or ECNR (Emigration Clearance Not Required) status to get proper status.
Since, the passport validity has not expired, no
police verification will be required. After the application is
submitted, the passport will be delivered in 15-20 days.
Now, the passport application has to be submitted at
the Passport Seva Kendra. For this, the applicant has to register
himself on the passportindia.gov.in. Then, e-form has to be downloaded.
After filling the details, upload the e-form and get an appointment.
Reach at the scheduled date and time at the allocated PSK along with
original and photocopy of to-be expired passport and address proof.
Once applied for Renewal of the Passport, it is
based on your submission (Tatkaal or Normal) - it will be delivered.
Tatkaal service takes maximum 7 days to delivery, whereas Normal service
takes maximum 1 to 2 months for delivery.
